Single-use, a term that describes items whose unchecked proliferation are blamed for damaging the environment and affecting the food chain, has been named Collins’ Word of the Year 2018. This is a campaign they do each year, measuring the public use of certain uses and phrases.
There is a peculiar, self-contradictory irony about Trumpean Christianity. Many of its proponents fancy themselves being ‘in the business of spreading God’s kingdom’. Yet, paradoxically, their very existence is bad for the business they are in.
