There is a peculiar, self-contradictory irony about Trumpean Christianity. Many of its proponents fancy themselves being ‘in the business of spreading God’s kingdom’. Yet, paradoxically, their very existence is bad for the business they are in. They are like a bald salesman trying to sell hair-growth potion, or like a muchacho munching on a beef burger whilst extolling the virtues of vegetarianism.
